Pidgin-based Whatsapp client for Windows with password generator.
WhatsApple is a client for WhatsApp on your desktop PC which currently works.
The client itself is actually Pidgin but the application comes bundled with a WhatsApp password generator which will assist you in setting up your WhatsApp account for usage with the Pidgin client.
Instructions for using WhatsApple - WhatsApp Client for PC:
To get started, you should run the program called "WhatsApp Password Generator" which comes with this package. You should then enter your full phone number (without ), including the country code. For us, we used our US number in the format of 12425550000. When you're sure you have the right number, click on "Request code". You phone should ring with a voice giving you your 6 digit code.
Once you've obtained your 6 digit code, enter it in to the "Code" part of "WhatsApp Password Generator". It will generate a password.
Now that you have the password, you can then add it to your Pidgin account. Your username will be your full phone number (including country code; format of 12425550000 for the US and Canada) and your password will be the one generated in the "Retrieve password" dialog box. We suggest you copy and paste the WhatsApp password that was generated.
After the account has been successfully setup, you can use WhatsApp on your Windows desktop directly with the Pidgin IM client. It supports basic text chat as well as emoticons, image and video file transer and most other things you can do with the mobile WhatsApp client found on iPhones and Android devices.
For what it's worth:
In conclusion: WhatsApple is one of the few Windows PC WhatsApp clients that actually works though we'll see if this one lasts a while.
